Sleep disordered breathing such as heavy snoring, movement disorders of sleep, and sleep apnea have been recognized for some years. Although identified and classified into mulitple unique groups, treatment has for some years remained focused on utilizing a single treatment avenue. At the STAR Institute each patient is examined on a case by case basis to determine the best course of treatment for your particular sleep situation.

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) has long been the treatment of choice for multiple disorders associated with sleep. Although extremely effective, more than 50 percent of patients who use CPAP are unable to wear it on a nightly basis and/or even throughout the night. Considered noncompliant, many patients cannot tolerate CPAP since they cannot attain deep sleep with this treatment. STAR offers addtional treatment options to ensure that everyone gets the good night sleep they deserve.

At STAR, we believe that everyone deserves the right to sleep comfortably. We make it a point to go over your options for starting sleep treatment and help to get you started on a solution custom fit to help you sleep better. Not only that, but one of STARs core mission values is to reduce the noncompliant rates of our sleep disorder patients. As a direct result, we have a strong commitment to patient followup which ensures you not only understand your current treatment but are also made aware of new progresses in sleep therapy and sleep treatment options as they become available.
